RMS Gives Back A Day to HOPS!

My friend

Danny!

As student council President at my school, I wanted to do something special that would always be remembered and that would become a permanent tradition of RMS.

I decided that I wanted to do something for (HOPS)Hunterdon Outreach Program for Special needs.

From the time I was 8 years old and went and helped them with baseball,I was hooked on volunteering to work with them. They are so much fun and really funny. Plus, they are always happy!

So the process began of going to board meetings to pitch my idea of bringing this event to my school. It wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. Now I know what is like to sit at board meetings for hours and hours. It took almost a year of a lot of back and forth, but the day finally came and it was AMAZING!

After all of the work, we pulled off an amazing event. The HOPS athletes were asking me to do it again next year and that it was the best event they had ever had hosted for them!

Thank you to all the teachers and students that showed up to help make this day a success!
